Dial-A-Bus is able to provide affordable transportation to our clients partly due to our dedicated cadre of volunteer drivers. Our volunteers use vehicles from our sedan and mini-van fleet to help clients attend their social programs, medical appointments, adult day-care, religious services, community events and personal service appointments. Most volunteers drive approximately one 4-hour shift per week; however our schedulers are happy to accommodate widely varied schedules and time commitments. Our volunteers find that their service to the community through Dial-A-Bus is vastly fulfilling and many stay with us for years. Volunteers build relationships with clients that use the service frequently and thereby become part of the social fabric that keeps our senior and disabled clients active and healthy.
If you are interested in volunteering for Dial-A-Bus, please contact us. You can get started on the training we provide or schedule a ride-a-long to get a better idea of how a volunteer shift works.
Our Board of Directors is also a volunteer-run entity and members of the community who are interested in Board service are encouraged to contact the Executive Director to find out more.
If you are interested in experiencing the sense of service, connection and fulfillment that has kept some of volunteers coming back for over 15 years, please contact us to find out how you can help.
