I joined the Dial-A-Bus board in June 2011 and have been serving as the board chair since June 2018. I was recruited to the board by a friend who was serving at the time. I currently serve on the finance and technology committees as well as my role as chair. In my spare time I enjoy long distance road cycling, camping, hiking, golf and riding my Harley. I also volunteer my time with the Boy Scouts as a leader and teacher.
I am a past Board Chair for Dial-A-Bus and currently continue to serve on the Board. I joined the Board when I was the Oregon State University Director of Safety and Security which also included the University’s Motor Pool and Parking Services. I have recently retired as a local Farmers Insurance Agent. My other non-profit activity is the Corvallis Sister Cities Association which I serve as the Treasurer. My hobbies are fishing, hunting, working on home projects and occasionally golf. I live in Lincoln City with my wife of almost a half century, Carla.
I take minutes at the monthly Board meetings and keep records of those meetings; sending Agendas to Board members for each meeting is also part of the job. I am responsible for the Policy Manual and getting those policies updated as necessary. Corvallis is my hometown. I attended Oregon State University for a while and worked for the State of Oregon for 35 years. It seems like Dial-A-Bus has always been a part of my life. My Mother worked with the Corvallis Senior Center when Dial-A-Bus was beginning, and volunteered as a dispatcher during that time. I have enjoyed watching the positive changes within Dial-A-Bus in the recent years.
